I've wanted to be a freelancer for a long time but had the difficulty on choosing my own niche. I was wondering what I want to do, where I'm good at and how would I gain the knowledge to do that. Another thing that I'm considering on choosing my niche as a freelancer is if it would be profitable. I have a fear that I would be picking the wrong niche.
I have been doing office work for a long time that is why I chose to be a virtual assistant as a niche and take an online class about virtual assistance. There I learned setting up my accounts, basic SEO, On and Off page optimization, simple website creation, Lead generation and basic social media management. But I thought a single niche would just limit my ability as a freelancer so I decided I should learn how to be a content writer since I love expressing myself through writing. But I have no formal knowledge in content writing and editing and took another online class to further develop my skill as a freelancer. Currently I've learned proper grammar and pronunciation, Blog writing and copywriting. I'm still working on my editing and proof reading skills and expecting that after I finish this I would gain the skills I need to start working as a content writer or a proofreader.
I know I was just starting my journey on becoming a freelancer but I believe through the knowledge that I gain from my mentors I am on the right path in getting my dream job. I am confident on my skills that from here I could be better and wish to learn more. You can check one of my english mentor's work here https://robbielorenzo.com/writing-captions/ .
